About
Bio
I'm a Danish/Swiss artist currently based in Basel, Switzerland. Since 2009 my practice has been formed by studies, traveling and work at different places; UK, US, Canada, Iceland, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and most recently Switzerland. In the last 10 years my work has evolved around questions about time and landscape and how we understand our relationship with nature. At the core of my work is a phenomenological approach to image making. To understand nature in our times I have travelled with scientists, and I've conducted research along their field work and in that way merge an open intuitive process with a scientific approach. On these trips I realized that to bring attention and actions to the current environmental issues caused by human civilization, we need to get in touch with our existential, rational and emotional connection to the earth. For me our relation to the natural reality that landscapes represent is best understood through working in the field feeling the earth as a fundamental premise of our life. I think with that understanding the relation between human and nature can change.
